Fit perfectly - just looking to see whether hen does not peck the black sides bare :(

Ive been a customer for a few years (thru Amazon) and I keep coming back for more. They last FOREVER and the chickens acclimate to them very quickly. Completely protects the hens from randy Rooster damage. They are a bit pricey, admittedly, but they are WORTH EVERY PENNY as I have never found anything as effective as these are, and the cheap knock-offs, are just thatcheap! Im a Texas farm girl and have several acres. My birds are mostly pets (with occasional egg collection) and so my hens live completely cage free and usually live many more years that a typical meat or egg hen. I love watching the momma and babies so I usually let them hatch and raise them at will. Unfortunately, sometimes we get a little overwhelmed with Roosters and they dont ever seem to have enough women in their groups so some of the girls get some pretty rough action. So they do need protection. Some of my ladies are going on their third year with their original saddle (although I remove it about every six months and clean it ..by hand and hang to dry) and let then I let the hens have a few days to just roll in the dirt etc etc). I have had zero problems with hens having any negative effects like fungal infections or anything else that I have read can grow under these types of devices. That doesnt seem to be a problem at all with this brand. I believe it is due to the excellent design and quality of these saddles. I strongly advise using these saddles if you have any roosters in your flock. I dont typically writereviews, but as I was putting new ones on some of my younger ladies I realized that other chicken farmers really need to know just how great these are. My girl had lost majority of her feathers as she was the rooster’s favourite, now she’s happy as and running around with her little saddle on!! Such a saviour… couldn’t be happier

My roster was tearing my girl up. My final straw was 3 deep punctures 2 of which it took 30 minutes to for the blood to clot somewhat.
I separated the rooster but that just stressed everyone out.
I searched the internet for options of how to handle the situation.
I came across these during my search. I bought them through Amazon.
The were delivered on time. The video I watched gave me confidence in how to "dress" the girls.
At first they acted like they couldn't walk with it on, but once the rooster was happy to be with them again they learned very quickly walking and running was still something they could do.
Within a week my girls wounds were healed and some feathers are growing back.
The material is stiff (yet flexible) and I leave it on them at all times. No new wounds have happened since I've put it on about 3 weeks ago.

Very nice so far. Fit my 10lbs orphington perfectly. It is made with a hardened mesh that is durable and allows air flow. Very pleased with this product.
