About Our Chicken Saddles

For over 11 years, we’ve bred show-quality chickens in Australia, winning National championships with our Gold and Silver Laced Wyandottes and developing Gold and Silver Laced Orpingtons (which previously didn’t exist in Australia). Breeding around 500 to 600 chicks annually from 70 hens, we quickly learned the importance of saddles, especially for heavy breeds like Orpingtons. Without saddles, our birds suffered severe injuries from mating. Initially, we imported saddles from England but they were poor quality and fell apart. This inspired us to create our own rugged and effective saddles. Today, we wouldn’t breed without them. For the past six years, we’ve sold our custom-designed saddles, known for their durability, secure fit, and high protection. We continuously improve our design, adding shoulder covers for extra protection, different sizes and colours, and a mesh version that resists fading and stays cooler in summer. Our commitment to quality ensures our saddles provide the best protection for your hens, keeping them safe and healthy.
